Jay alledgedly spread a rumour about himself in 2005 that he had signed for TNA wrestling. It picked up so much steam that it was actually shot down on the official TNA site at one point. He did, in 2005, head over to America to train with the CHIKARA wrestling group, but rumours that he had stolen a wallet (which the police stated he didnt), meant he ended his stay there rather prematurely.
