XWA PRESS RELEASE - An Interview with Luke and Bex

Channel 4 TV stars Luke and Bex from Big Brother, who will be the special guests of the XWA at Battle of Britain on Saturday, November 1, conducted an interview today with the XWA's GREG LAMBERT which will be available to read - in full - in The Morecambe Visitor newspaper this coming Wednesday.

But the XWA website at www.xwawrestling.com today exclusively revealed some teasers for The Visitor's chat with Luke and Bex, including:

*Why the reality TV odd couple decided to make their British wrestling debut with the XWA

*What Bex would like to do at Battle of Britain

*Which famous wrestler Luke compares himself to, kind of...!

GREG - Now Luke, followers of the UK wrestling scene will know that before you entered the Big Brother house, you were a manager, commissioner and ring announcer for a number of North West-based wrestling promotions. But since you left the house, your only advertised UK wrestling appearance to date will be on Saturday November 1 for the XWA. Why choose the XWA?

LUKE - Since I left the Big Brother house I now have an agent, I have to deal with my agent and they decide what's best for me. I told my agent I wanted to do a wrestling show. They spoke to a few wrestling companies, went away to do some research, came back and said I should do a show with XWA. Now I know of XWA, a lot of my friends have been to the shows and told me they really liked them. So I'm really looking forward to it.

GREG - Would you consider doing anything else on the UK wrestling scene in future?

LUKE - To be honest Greg, I hadn't really thought about it - I only got evicted (from Big Brother) two months ago and I've been all over the place. But yes, I am still interested in doing something in wrestling. So many people ask me - what are you going to do in wrestling now? They ask, are you going to go to the WWE? But come on, let’s face it, I’ve only been on Big Brother in the UK. It’s not as if Vince McMahon is going to hand-pick me for a contract with the WWE, is it?

REBECCA - (Interrupting) I’ll wrestle! Get me someone to wrestle! Luke won’t wrestle, but I will!

GREG - So Rebecca, did you watch - or know anything about wrestling before you met Luke?

REBECCA - No.

GREG - But has Luke told you much about wrestling or sat you down to watch wrestling on TV?

REBECCA - Not really. My weekends are about getting ready to go out, and then going out and getting drunk. I don’t even know the difference between wrestling and boxing. All I know is about the boos. That’s what they do at wrestling isn’t it? They boo a lot.

GREG - Well, that depends on whether the crowd like you or not, Rebecca. Hopefully the fans of the XWA will give you a really warm welcome when you come to Battle of Britain on November 1.

LUKE - I am sorry about Rebecca, Greg. Some people say I should get a gold medal for being with Rebecca. I could be the first person in wrestling with a gold medal...well, except for Kurt Angle.

A separate event has been added to the XWA Battle of Britain day to celebrate the arrival in the XWA of Big Brother stars Luke Marsden and Rebecca Shiner - 'An Afternoon with Luke and Bex'.

‘An Afternoon with Luke and Bex’ runs from 4.30pm to 6pm and will include a live interview with the couple conducted by the XWA's own Greg Lambert, a fans’ Q&A, an autograph signing and the chance for fans to take photographs with Luke and Bex.

‘An Afternoon with Luke and Bex’ is the ultimate event for fans of Big Brother where you can have the chance to meet the stars and ask them anything you ever wanted to know about the hit TV show and their time in the nation’s favourite house.

What do they think of their fellow housemates now the show is over? Do they think their love will stand the test of time? Has Luke really never uttered a swear word? Has Rebecca managed to corrupt Luke with her love of clubbing? And what are their plans for the future?

There are only limited tickets available for this event so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Following the end of An Afternoon with Luke and Bex, the reality show stars will then make a special guest appearance on that night’s live pro wrestling event at The Hexagon – XWA Battle of Britain, which starts at 7.30pm.
