1PW: '3rd Anniversary Show' Final Update

Posted by Phil Jones

One Pro Wrestling Press Release:

3 years ago, when 1 Pro Wrestling was born, many people predicted that it wouldn't last the duration. Certainly, the company has seen its ups and its downs, and has often been criticised. As previously stated however, the new management team of 1PW has a goal, and that is to bring you high-quality wrestling and entertainment. With that in mind, we here at 1PW are happy to announce that we will be celebrating the 3 Year Anniversary of 1PW on October 18th, at what many consider the true home of 1PW, The Doncaster Dome. The first show at the Dome, since April's Know Your Enemy 2008, and certainly a test of the new management, we look to bring you a fantastic night of true 1PW action, as we begin the next year of 1 Pro Wrestling!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Thats right, former 16-time World Heavyweight champion, the legendary 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, will be appearing at 3AS. Flair has already spoke of how excited he is to be coming to 1PW and we are sure the fans will give him the reception he deserves. Without a doubt this is the biggest name in the history of 1PW to grace the Dome. To make sure you dont miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity, order your tickets today!

MONSTER MASH 4-WAY!

After Martin Stone had successfully retained his 1PW Openweight Championship against the debuting Johnny Moss this past Friday, his celebration was interrupted by the returning Dave Moralez, who had defeated Ulf Herman earlier on, and the re-invigorated Juggernaught. The 2 monsters, through their respective managers of Adam Curtis and Gilligan Gordon, declared that they deserved an Openweight Title shot! Being the fighting champion that he is, Stone has accepted the challenge, and the ring better be reinforced for October 18th, as all 4 men will clash in the centre of the ring, with the Openweight Championship on the line!

THE FINAL BATTLE!

Over the course of the entire 1PW/Damned Nation war, there have been 2 major thorns in the sides of the Nation, and those have been El Ligero and Bubblegum, Hubba-Bubba-Lucha. The 2 teams traded the 1PW World Tag Team Championships at 1PW:A Fully Charged and DAMNED NATION Will Not Die, they clashed in the violent Damned To Hell Match at Know Your Enemy 2008, and have traded victories in Last Man Standing and Submission Matches.
This past Friday, HBL's distraction allowed Project Ego to defeat Damned Nation to retain their Tag Team Titles, and that proved to be the final straw. Dragon Aisu has issued the challenge, and HBL have accepted. On October 18th, Dragon Aisu, John Cameron and Joseph Hayes will face El Ligero, Bubblegum and a mystery partner.
If Damed Nation win, Ligero and Bubblegum can never team in 1PW again, and if HBL and their partner win, Damned Nation must disolve forever. This truly is the final battle.

SURVIVAL OF THE SICKEST!

The returning Ulf Herman came, saw and destroyed the venue on Friday, and loved every second of it! The craziest member of the 1PW roster is back, and looking for a fight! We couldn't have a 1PW Anniversary without Ulf, and without some violence! So The Flaming German has issued an Open Challenge for October 18th, for someone to meet him in the middle of the ring, and take him on in his own speciality - Survival Of The Sickest!

INTERNATIONAL DREAM MATCH!

Earlier this year, in Coventry, Zack Sabre Jr. had what many described as a true break-out performance and a contender for the Match Of The Year, as he took on former Ring Of Honor Champion and Pro Wrestling NOAH star Bryan Danielson. Later on this year, in June, Zack Sabre Jr. was one of the 6 men selected to represent British wrestling in the Pro Wrestling NOAH 6-Man Tag Team bonus match. 2008 has truly been a breakthrough year for Sabre, as he has debuted for WXW in Germany. Sabre makes his 1PW debut at Relentless on September 26th, but at the 3 Year Anniversary Show, he has been selected to face a man who makes his return to 1PW, having only competed at Devil's Due in 2006 in Hull, as part of a 6-Man Elimination Match. On October 18th, Zack Sabre Jr will wrestle Chris Hero.

CHALLENGER ANNOUNCED!

After a couple of weeks of negotiations and deliberation, the new 1PW Management team is happy to announce the signing of the main event of the 1PW 3rd Year Anniversary Show. The match will be for the 1PW World Heavyweight Championship. On one side of the squared circle will be the reigning and defending 1PW World Heavyweight Champion, Sterling James Keenan. Standing across the ring from him will be a man not seen in 1PW since A Cruel Twist Of Fate, and a man who returns with gold in sight. SJK's challenger? Raven.

FIRST EVER CHAMPIONS RETURN!

The first official match to be signed for the 3 Year Show, will feature the first ever 1PW World Tag Team Champions challenging the current holders. Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch defeated AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels on May 27th, 2006 at 1PW Know Your Enemy Night 2, and held them for nearly 5 months defending them on a regular basis, against teams like Jack Storm and Dave Moralez and Spud and Sterling James Keenan, before losing them in a Triple Threat Ladder Match at the One Year Anniversary Show. Since then, the belts have passed hands on several occasions, seeing teams like Team SHAG, Hubba-Bubba-Lucha and Damned Nation hold the titles. At the moment, the belts are held by two of the most obnoxious, arrogant and annoying, yet incredibly popular people in British wrestling today, Kris Travis and Martin Kirby. The past meets the present, as the former champions return to challenge the new wave, as the 1PW World Tag Team Championship will be defended on October 18th!

'THE KING OF OLD SCHOOL'

Aside from the old owner, Steve Corino is widely considered to be the most talked about and controversial member of the 1PW contingent. Not seen in a 1PW ring since Fight Club 4 in November 2006, the new management team have decided that it's high time that the former 1PW World Heavyweight Champion returns to Doncaster. After a near 2 year absence, the reaction to the return of Corino may be extremely divided. But where Corino goes, controversy follows, and we don't doubt that it will be an emotional re-emergence, one way or another!
