A-Merchandise: Heading To Faringdon

Posted by Phil Jones

Press Release:

A-Merchandise return with their final show of 2008.

After the huge success of the A-Merchandise promoted Pro Wrestling NOAH : 'European Navigation 2008' and the low profile NOAH in the UK : 'Night 2' event in Faringdon, AM have been in discussions with various worldwide companies about bringing exciting events to the UK in 2009. There has also been much talk about forming a whole new promotion but the decision has been made that if it cannot offer anything of benifit to the flagging UK scene then it shall remain a producer of events, promoted when the oppertunity presents itself to bring some of the best talent to the UK shores.

At very short notice we have accept the oppertunity to promote a smaller event featuring one of the top independent freelancers in the world in his European Debut. He will take on two of Europe's finest in a Round Robin Tournament. We have also booked top UK Talent to piece together an excellent night of action. Unfortunately we cannot announce the headliners identity until October 10th but the first import and his match are annoucned below.

Look out for flyers, posters, magazine & newspaper articles and various items in the build up to this event, if you are a WRESTLING fan then you are not going to want to miss this event. The remaining stand alone match and first match from the round robin will be announced on Sunday morning. This will mean the one remaining competitor's matches will be announced on October 10 thus filling the remaining two round robin fights.

The show will take place at the site of 'NOAH Night 2' in Faringdon, Oxfordshire on Friday, November 7th. Travel issues last time were due to the event being held on a Sunday. This event will allow public transport to and from the event, as detailed below. www.Travelodge.co.uk are offering £19 rooms if you book more than 21 days in advance and you can of course reach the venue easily by car. Full details of buses to the venue are listed below.

The show will start at 7.45pm with doors opening at 7.15 and the tickets which can be ordered here are price at £15 Front Row (with Free Post Show Meet and Greet & Poster with the two imported stars) and £10 General Admission.

Matches :

Joel Redman vs Claudio Castagnoli

The stock of Joel Redman's continues to rise as he gains valueable experience on the circuit. After a stunning contest with Pro Wrestling Noah's Atsushi Aoki at European Navigation in June, Redman made his debut in Faringdon with another impressive outing against Naomichi Marufuji.
When looking for an opponent from Claudio Castagnoli there seemed fewer better match ups than the mat based Redman who could use this as a stepping stone to build on his recent European trips.

Since relocating to the USA "Double C's career has been on constant rise and he is now based primarly in ROH, he was rumoured to have signed and then cancelled a WWE development contract and with a few tours of Pro Wrestling NOAH under his belt, the next stage for Castagnoli would be to get his hands on the ROH title. His much talked about matches with Nigel McGuinness will have to take a back seat on November 7th as he would be silly to try and look past Redman who competes for Claudio's former home promotion WXW in Germany, but one thing definately won't be overlooked on the night for certain, that this will be an excellent contest.

Mark Sloan vs Mark Haskins

Local Star Mark Haskins takes on his trainer in a rare singles clash. The two have faced off many times on opposing teams all around the country, and even in Premier Promotions they team together but this will be only their second one on one battle. Haskins has become somewhat of a rising star in the last 18 months, being dubbed as "The hardest working man in British Wrestling" but some fans after working 3 matches in one night for IPW:UK and pulling double duty regulary elsewhere, Sloan however isn't that easily impressed. With such constant praise he feels it is going to Haskin's head and he should focus on working harder and the two have clashed repeatedly and will now settle things in Haskins hometown of Faringdon.

Plus more to be announced.
