iD 2008: NJPW Involvement Cancelled

The involvement of New Japan Pro Wrestling at this weekend's Indypendence Day event has been cancelled.

In an official release, the promoters of iD 2008 announced:

It is with great regret that we must inform everyone that due to both financial and political issues the weekend has suffered the unfortunate loss of the NJPW wrestlers. Therefore the 3 matches scheduled for the weekend featuring NJPW have been cancelled. We can only apologise for this and offer our assurances that the deal with NJPW was legitimate.

As mentioned earlier in this release there shall still be a show on both days featuring all of the other names advertised and it should be noted that rumours of flights not being booked and the show being cancelled entirely are false.

The show was set to feature New Japan's Gedo, Jado, Shinsuke Nakamura, Prince Devitt, Wataru Inoue and Ryusuke Taguchi.

However, the iD 2008 will kick off as scheduled on Saturday September 27, 2008 at 7:15pm the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton and will continue on Sunday September 28 at 6:15pm with a roster including Nigel McGuinness, Austin Aries and Bryan Danielson.

Also, IPW:UK will continue it's 4th Anniversary celebrations with a Sunday matinee event, featuring Al Snow, at 2:00pm.
