1PW: Under New Management

Posted by Phil Jones

Steven Gauntley is no longer involved with One Pro Wrestling.

A Press Release, issued today (Saturday August 2, 2008), states that Gauntley has sold the Doncaster-based promotion to a company owned by wrestlers Dragon Aisu, Jon Cameron and El Ligero.

As a consequence of the sale, the August event at the Barnsley Metrodome has been cancelled. The fisrt show under new management will be the September 26 event at The Granby WMC in Doncaster.

The press release in full:

PRESS RELEASE REGARDING FUTURE OF 1PW:

"Effective immediately I am stepping down from 1PW and will no longer be involved in the running of the company. I have been considering quitting for a while and have needed to get out, partially for my own sanity, but also for the sake of my family and my wife. I didnt want to just close 1PW because it means a lot to many people, but with my energy for it gone I couldn't continue how things were.

So today I have sat down and discussed ways in which 1PW could continue to the benefit of everyone. The 1PW Promotions Ltd holding company is closed. I have sold the 1PW brand and everything with it to a company owned by Dragon Aisu (Dan Richardson), Jon Cameron (Jon Apsey) and El Ligero. They will be in charge from now on."
(Steven Gauntley)

Steven is currently unable to access the internet so please forgive the vague nature of the above, but we wanted to let the fans know what was happening as soon as possible.

Due to the management change, Invincible at the Barnsley Metrodome is unfortunately cancelled. Logistically it is unfeasible to run the show at this short notice. For ticket refunds please email Steven but allow a weeks grace for him to return online. Rest assured the money is in place for the refunds and he will be more than happy to explain to fans the situation.

The 3rd Anniversary Show at the Doncaster Dome in October will still be going ahead, more details will be made available as they are confirmed. Also, the 1PW Academy will continue and the week long camp next week is still going ahead at the Granby. Further details on all of these things will follow.

We can also confirm that the first show under new management will take place at the Granby on September 26th. Again, details will be made available as and when possible. Please bear with us at this time while we make the transition and hopefully the future of 1PW will be as bright as its ever been.
